Porcelain Inlays & Onlays
Inlays sometimes referred to as partial crowns, are utilized to repair teeth in place of large, defective fillings or where significant decay or trauma has occurred.
They are typically are made of porcelain or gold and are permanently cemented into place.
Onlays are used for the same purpose and include coverage of the chewing surfaces of a tooth when that need is evident. Your dentist will evaluate your need for this conservative restoration and whether a crown will constitute a better, more practical long-term solution to your problem.
